Right below us, in the clearing you can see below the rock, was what we later decided was a coyote. .he was not more that 15' from us. .just standing there. . .and 10 seconds later he walked off into the woods before I could get my camera out. The reason that we are fairly certain it wasn't a wolf is because wolves are believed to be extinct in Colorado. HOWEVER. .cool fact. . .2 of the wolves that were reintroduced into Yellowstone in the 90's were spotted near Steamboat Springs in NW Colorado last month! cool stuff.
